Trump Log #48 - Why You Don't Elect a Poor Businessman to the Most Powerful Office on the Planet

Being a good businessman is not a precursor to being a good president. In US history, it has probably only happened once, George Washington, who was a plantation owner and president of the Potomac Company. The only other presidents before Trump that have major private sector experience were Herbert Hoover (mining), Calvin Coolidge (banking) and George W. Bush (oil). This is hardly a Mount Rushmore of a great leaders. All of them had some government experience before becoming president. Bush was governor of Texas, Coolidge was Governor of Massachusetts and VP and Hoover was Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of the US Food Administration. Only Trump comes to the presidency from the private sector with zero government experience and it shows.

If he were a good businessman, I might understand supporting him (nah, probably not). But he is not even close to being a good businessman. He declared bankruptcy several times. Trump's airline (Trump Shuttle) collapsed. Trump University folded after settling a major class action with thousands of victims. Trump Steaks were discontinued by Sharper Image because "no one was buying them."  Trump Vodka was a debacle because he made a deal with a bunch of inexperience people and the venture collapsed. Trump Ice, his bottled water band, was never really owned by him. They just put Trump labels on it. That's it! The one thing he is good at, putting his name on things. He is good at taking credit where none is deserved and marketing himself, and dumb people really eat that shit up.

His lack of political experience and poor negotiation skills show during his talks with North Korea where he promised to stop "war games" on the Korean peninsula without even talking to our ally, South Korea, about it. Once again, he screws one of our allies in favor of a dictator. North Korea has six political prisons, that we know of, holding up to approximately 200,000 political prisoners. Some of their crimes are as small as criticizing the government or being related to someone who did. In North Korea, Christians are persecuted and some women are forced to have abortions. This is a repressive country that doesn't let their citizens leave. Trump is chummy with this tyrant while he continually angers the leaders of great nations like Canada, Australia and Germany. He was played, once again, by a tyrant. He and his minion aren't self-aware enough to realize it. His agreement with North Korea is almost identical to the one that was made in 1994 which they ignored. We have no official way to check if they are adhering to this new agreement. The difference now is that Trump gave up a lot, pissed off our allies and got nothing in return. What a joke!

One of the very first scary things I thought of when Trump won Republican nomination for president was having both him and Kim Jung Un as world leaders.
