Trump Log #62: The Gravitational Pull

Trump has a gravitational pull. You meet up with an old friend. You don't want to talk about Trump, but somehow it happens. You hope ... you pray ... you are almost sure ... that they are didn't support him. Phew! You can enjoy yourself.

The Kavanaugh hearing have become the latest satellite in this pull. It is difficult not to talk about it. On one hand, it is difficult to judge someone that they did while they were in high school. This is why we don't try minors as adults. Their brains aren't fully developed. This also why, he should just admit it and we can move on. It is the lie that is the problem. If it is a lie.

Also, it happened 30 years ago. We know that memory is not reliable even in short term situations. This is why we have statutes of limitations. Perhaps no one is lying here. Perhaps we just have the failing memories of two individuals that remember things very differently. If I attempted to rape someone, I'm pretty sure that I'd remember that particular day. Maybe he attempted so many rapes that this one doesn't stand out. I've been to college. I've met guys that like.

If you examine closely at what each of them is saying, it does appear that one of them is lying and it doesn't seem to be Blasey Ford. For one, if she were going to lie about this, would she be claiming it was "attempted" rape?  Don't liars usually go for the extreme? If she were lying, she would be saying he raped her, no "attempted." Also, she is the one calling for an investigation. He is not. If you were being accused of something that you know you were not guilty of, wouldn't you be calling for an investigation as well? He doesn't want an investigation, because he knows he did it.

Let's face it. The old boy network is a disgusting lot. They are privileged fucking brats who think they are entitled to shit all over the world and the rest of us are just here to wipe their asses. The world is here to be their playground. Your pain, your struggles, are only there for their amusement. It makes them feel better about themselves because they have it easy. It is this easiness of their life prevents them from building character. I don't know Kavanaugh, but I know people like him. Whatever we can do to stop someone like him from having a lifetime appointment on a court that is going to dictate how we live for the rest of our lives, we need to do it.

He can't even admit to making a mistake when he was a teenage boy. Surely, he is not adult enough to be a Supreme Court Justice.
